Oedipus the King

Why does the worst happen to the best? I am not really sure but I believe that god has a lot to do with it. He treats us as equals no matter how rich or poor we are. No matter how good or bad we are. There are many things that we cannot control that happen in life. Sometimes it is just fate.  Oedipus’s tragedy was something he had no control over.  He didn’t know that the man he killed would later turn out to be his father and his wife, his mother.  The gods controlled his fate and no one else. This is what we believe in, that god controls our fate. How else can we explain it?  We can’t always explain why such things like this happens to people most of the time its just fate, and it was just meant to be. Bad things happen to innocent people because they have to; just because you are innocent doesn’t mean bad things won’t happen. Bad things happen to everyone, and it’s just a part of life. It’s a way god test us to see how we cope with these tragedies. Bad things are obstacles that gods throws at us to remind us that we are, all still human.
